Region no. 5 Nepalgunj and region no. 6 Baitadi kicked of the second Wai Wai Women’s National Cricket tournament with win on Monday. In the match played at TU Cricket Ground, Nepalgunj defeated Region no. 3 Kathmandu by four wickets.
Likewise Baitadai had a 10 wicket win over Region no. 2 Birjung. Ritu Kanojiya was awarded the player of the match award.
Earlier batting first Kathmandu made 62 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in the allocated 20 overs. Captain Nira R1ajupadhyaya top scored with 14 runs while Neema Tamang scored six runs. Likewise Sarita Magar and Radhika Thapa scored four runs each.
Sita Rana of Nepalgunj was awarded the player of the match award for excellent bowling figures. Bowling four overs she took two wickets giving away four runs in the process. Mary Thapa took wickets while Nary Thapa and Samjhana Sharma got a wicket each.
