Gyanendra guides Nepal to victory

Gyanendra Malla’s magic with the ball helped Nepal seal three run victory over Namibia in its third match of the U-19 World Cup on Thursday. Malla took two wickets in two overs and also managed a run out at the crucial time when Namibia needed 18 runs in the last six overs with three wickets in hand. Balling for the first time in the tournament Malla edged Ya France to Keeper in his second ball. Marne Engelhrecht fell victim to Malla’s of his last ball. In the match played at University Sains Penang Malaysia Nepal after winning the toss scored 164 runs in 49.5 overs. Namibia was all out in 161 runs.
Nepal bowled well once again. Amrit Bhattarai gave an early breakthrough, he got opener Van Schoor lbw out in the second ball of the first over of the innings. Apart form Malla, Paras Khadka and Rahul Vishwakarma took two wickets and Raj Shrestha took once.
Earlier Mahesh Chhetri scored 62 runs of 134 balls which included four boundaries. Raj Shrestha scored quick 26 runs of 27 balls including four boundaries. Nepal’s coach Roy Dias said “I am not satisfied, especially with batting. Batsmen should concentrate and not just try to hit the ball out of the ground.”
