Nepal through to Plate final for second time

Nepal reached the plate championship final of the U-19 World Cup by beating Namibia by 4 runs on Tuesday. In the Match played at Johor Cricket Academy, in Malaysia Nepal made a low score of 143 runs and the bowlers defended it well, as in the previous games in the tournament.
Chasing the modest target Namibia scored only 139 runs in 33.3 overs. Amrit Bhattarai gave Nepal the break through by sending the opener S Silver back to the pavilion in the 6th over. Silver before being caught by Vishwakarma scored seven runs.
Skipper Paras Khadka got the other opener C. Bouwer lbw out in the next over. He added eight runs playing 31 balls. R Van Schoor fought to get his team back but he got no support form the others. The third wicket partnership Schoor and L P Van Der Westhuizen Schoor was the only time the Namibian batsmen looked good. They added 50 runs for the third wicket partnership. Schoor added 48 runs playing 73 balls. He was caught by Akash Mandal of Paras Khadka’s ball.
Paras Khadka and Rahul Vishwakarma and Raj Shrestha took two wickets each. While Amrit Bhattarai and Sagar Khadka took a wicket each.
Earlier opener Akash Mandal was patiently adding runs to the teams score before he was run out by Van Schoor. Mandal added made 23 runs in 54 balls. Paras Khadka scored 44 runs in 63 balls including three boundaries. Rom Shrestha added 18 runs.
Paras Khadka was awarded man of the match award.
Nepal will now face the winner of the West Indies and Papua New Guinea.
