Brilliant bowling takes Nepal to semi final

Nepal won the quarter final of the U- 19 World Cup Plate Championship against Zimbabwe by 99 runs on Sunday. Brilliant bowling saw the team defending a low total of 158 successfully. In the match played at Johor cricket ground in Malaysia invited to bat first Nepal made 158 runs in 45.1 overs. Zimbabwe managed on 59 runs in reply.
Zimbabwe started the innings poorly. They were a wicket down with only five runs on the board. Zimbabweans did not come back in the game form then on. Skipper Paras Khadka leading form the front gave the first break through by sending opener Mashonganyika to pavilion on duck. Amrit Bhattarai bowling form the other end got Moor caught by the wicket kipper when the teams total had reached ten. T Chimbambo was the top scorer he made 20 runs before being stumped of Rahul Vishwakarma. S F Mire was the only other batsmen to reach double figure. Mire remained not out on 16 runs of 50 balls.
Paras Khadka, Amrit Bhattarai and Raj Shrestha took three wickets each.
Earlier Puspha Thapa added 40 runs of 49 balls for Nepal. Paras Khadka scored 20 runs Raj Shrestha 19 runs and opener Mahesh Chhetri 16 runs. Paras Khadka was awarded man of the match award.
