CAN announes squad

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Monday, named a 14-member squad for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) U-17 Elite Cup Cricket Tournament scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from Feb.4-13.
The player selection process was complete after CAN sent the X-rays of the players chosen form the closed camp to meet the ACC Age Verification Protocol.
According to CAN spokesperson Tarak Mani Dixit, CAN received the ACC report on Saturday stating that only 13 out of 18 players had passed the protocol.
Skipper Prithu Baskota leads the squad comprising of Pradeep Aire, Sagar Pun, Rochak Bahhata, Nischal Singh Chaudhary, Vivek Dali, Kriten Gurung, Bhuwan Karki, Krishna Karki, Ashwin Karna, Ayush Rana, Amandeep Singh, Prateek Singh and Aakash Singh Pariyar. “Aakash, who was not in the close camp due to a knee injury has been recalled after he announced himself fit,” said Dixit.
Aakash had been given the green signal to participate in the U-15 tournament held last year. “He still needs his doctor’s statement declaring him fit for the tournament,” revealed Dixit. “Otherwise, we will go ahead with only 13 players.” Ujjwol Thapa, Pawan Shrestha, Sahanbaz Ali, Nirmal Thapa and Nawaraj Shahi were unable to pass the ACC Age Verification Protocol.
Roy Luke Dias is the team coach while Manjur Alam Khan is his deputy.
