Trinity College had a good start at the Seventh Women’s and Eighth Men’s Trinity National Open Basketball Championship with a 76-54 win over Reunited.
Trinity dominated the game with the score of 19-13, 21-13, 14-11 and 22-17 in the first, second, third and fourth quarter. Binod Maharjan netted 14 points for Trinity while Karma Sonam of Reunited scored 20 points, on Friday.
In the other match Golden Gate thrashed Naya Bazar Warriors 104-22. Naya Bazar Warriors failed to score double digit in the first three quarters as they scored 15-2, 27-3, 25-4 in the first, second and third quarter respectively. Sushil Gurung netted 30 points for Golden Gate.
Nepal Army Club went down 55-35 against Unique at the Dashrath Stadium covered hall. Rajiv Shakya’s 24 points helped Unique out score Nepal Army Club with 18-6, 12-5, 8-9 and 17-15 in the first, second, third and fourth quarter. In the highly competitive match, Prime Sports got hold of 59-52 victory over Revolver. In the Women’s section, Miss Nepal, Sitashma Chand’s 15 points helped Rato Bangala hammer Naag Sports Club 59-35.
