Nepal crashed with 4-1 loss against the host Maldives at Male’s National Stadium on Thursday. The loss ended Nepal’s hope of reaching the semi final of the Fifth South Asian Football federation Championship. Vishan Gauchan scored the lone goal for Nepal.

Kyrgyzstan will host this years AFC President Cup which will kick off form September 19-21 at the Bishkek’s Spartak Stadium. Nepal Police Club will represent Nepal in the competition.

Nepal Police’s Chandrakala Thapa has been selected to represent Nepal in the 2008 Olympics. In the contest organized by Nepal Amateur Athletics Association Thapa was selected for the 100 meters event on Saturday. She completed the distance in 12.54 seconds.
